Rebuild the Blender scenes and renders

The STL pack is exported in CAD assembly coordinates (X starboard, Y aft with the nose at Y=0, Z up, millimetres), so the full aircraft assembles by resetting transforms and mirroring the one-sided parts across X=0. Spar axes, the motor bolt plates and the servo bay were measured from the mesh bores. Rebuild the file and renders with:

The first build, Fuselage C v2.4B, pulled apart along its spars, in the green colourway, Cycles render

Terminal window
blender -b -P tools/blender_scenes.py -- --stl-dir terrahawk-fpv-stl-pack-1.0.0 \
--out blender/terrahawk-scenes.blend --render-dir blender/renders

Scenes: 01 Parts Grid, 02 Parts By Material (LW / PETG / TPU with print quantities), 03 Assy Fuselage, 04 Assy VTOL Section R, 05 Assy Wing R, 06 Assy Nose, 07 Complete Assembled, 08 Exploded View. Carbon spars are cylinders on the measured bore axes at the manual’s cut lengths. Motors (2807-class lift, 3115 pusher) and props (8x4.1 bi-blade lift props, and the folding Aeronaut CAM Carbon Z 10x7 pusher, shown folded aft) are procedural stand-ins sized from the datasheets; swap in vendor CAD if you need exact geometry. The .blend is gitignored, the script is the source. The build includes the MAPIR Survey3 mapping payload by default (run tools/make_survey3_mount.py first); pass --payload none for the stock airframe.

Materials live in tools/blender_materials.py and are procedural in object space, so the STLs need no UVs and mirrored parts stay correct: 0.2 mm layer lines along each part’s print axis, foamed speckle on the LW parts, glossier slate PETG, twill-weave 14 mm woven carbon, plain pultruded 8 and 6 mm carbon, brushed anodised motors and matte nylon props. Add --pathtrace (optionally --samples N) for Cycles renders of the complete, exploded and VTOL-section scenes plus a motor-mount close-up, lit by the Poly Haven studio_small_09 HDRI (CC0), which goes in blender/assets/ and is gitignored. --lw-color 304e2b --tag green recolours every lightweight-filament part (hex is sRGB) and suffixes the render names, so colour variants sit beside the default ivory set. Fetch the HDRI with:

Terminal window
curl -sSL -o blender/assets/studio_small_09_2k.hdr \
